Dear God, has it been that long since the last comic? I really do apologise. Life has a habit of getting in the way. I haven't forgotten about my loyal readers, though, and I promise I have lots of ideas.

Really, I just stopped by to tell you all that Snape hates karenhealey's new fic (1, 2).

I'd actually written this comic long before I saw the results of the poll (about which, more later); it was, I think, one of the first few concepts I actually thought of, but it took me a while to figure out how to end it. You can make it mean whatever you want it to mean.

This is probably the most complex comic so far, in terms of raw total number of mouse clicks required to get everything right. I'm pretty pleased with it, overall, except that I can't for the life of me figure out where they're supposed to be. Blue and gold wallpaper and red carpet? Your guess is as good as mine. It just seemed to fit; go figure.

On an entirely unrelated note: Go Gryffindor Quidditch!

That's two comics in two days, which might have to be all you get until after the weekend: tomorrow I'm going to see a play, then on Friday I am going skiing for the weekend for some reason.

In the meantime, to tide you over, and since we've now reached double figures (awed gasp), here is the very first ever Hogwarts and All Official Reader Questionnaire.

A fairly simple gag that sprang readily to mind once yesterday's comic was written; nevertheless, you all asked for it.

karenhealey has pointed out there are certain aspects of the Hogwarts curriculum you just don't read about in the books. At least, we hope somebody teaches them this stuff; on reflection, it's probably best if it's not McGonagall.

No, I'm fairly sure it's not Lupin, either.

No, really sure.

Dear God, what have I done?

As I noted in my journal earlier, I've got a bunch of comics in the wings (including some of your requests!), but I've had to force myself to take some time out from the computer this weekend. Working 42 hours a week at the keyboard (and it is mostly the keyboard these days), means I have to try and limit the amount of time I spend on the computer at home, and my tendons have been complaining at me quite a bit lately.

Having said that, of course I'll keep going as long as I'm still enjoying it (after all, I'm not even in double figures yet). I suppose I can commit myself to at least one a week, since they're nowhere near as time-consuming as the comics I used to do on a weekly basis; if you're lucky (and I'm feeling inspired!), it will certainly be more.

Also, this comic has quadrupled its registered readers in three or four days! Hello and thank you to all of you. I promise I'll update as soon as I can.

Hello to everyone visiting from daily_snitch! *waves*

I wish I had something interesting to say, but I'm up to me elbows in database code, and I tend to become rather single-minded when that happens. Send me ideas!

theladybailey wanted Sirius in leather and squealing fangirls. This is as close as I could bring myself to get.

It's been a while. alternateb helped me out with this one, although as usual, he left it up to me to end it "in a hilarious fashion". I hope it worked, and that his hatred of Quidditch has been sufficiently communicated.

This one's for mpj17, but I hope the rest of you get what I'm on about. Perhaps I should stop with the crossovers and the in-jokes...

Because sarahdotcom wanted me to use the Hagrid I drew the other night; also, because Hagrid's dialog is really fun to write.

JKR's always going on about her characters "sucking thoughtfully on the end of a quill". How practical is this, really?

Anyway, welcome to hogwartsandall. Hopefully these comics will keep coming as readily as they have been over the past few days (although I don't imagine I'll be able to keep doing one a day for very long at all).

If you don't know me, I'm Matt. Hi. Please feel free to check out mattmatt, my (fairly open) personal journal. I'm totally open to suggestions for comics, but please bear in mind that I'm quite new to the whole Harry Potter thing, and am only a little way through Book 5 (although I'm going as fast as I can). No spoilers, please!

Enjoy.

Snape. Bees. What's not to like?

Thanks to jwm, amarynth, pinky_thebrain, the_python, angelina41, mpj17, and ellygator, all of whom like bees and aren't too proud to admit it.

Probably this comic is way too in-jokey for only the second one, but I had to get it out before someone else noticed the similarity and ruined the joke. If you like comics, but have no idea what this strip is about, you should probably read this book.

The very first comic, back when I didn't know there was a series. Uh, that was Wednesday. Edited slightly, and by popular request, to give Ron freckles, and to "make Hermione prettier".
